Guidance/Care Center, Inc. (GCC) provides behavioral health services, education, and support to benefit:

  • People from all incomes and walks of life
  • Adults, children, and families
  • Persons experiencing issues with mental health and/or substance abuse problems
  • Persons in crisis
  • Adults with serious and persistent mental illness
  • Mothers and fathers working to be better parents
  • Children and youth with a behavior problem

GCC works collaboratively with other agencies, schools, private providers, law enforcement, hospitals and other behavioral health providers to support and enhance the benefits to our clients, consumers and other stake holders. Services available to women and pregnant women receive preference. GCC serves all clients regardless of inability to pay. Discounts for essential services are offered based on family size and income. Project H.O.P.E (Helping Our People in Emergencies)

Program Description:
Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Our People in Emergencies) is a federally-funded, disaster crisis counseling outreach program that is designed to assist those within Monroe County most impacted by Hurricane Irma. The program began in December 2017 and will end in October 2018.

Our Goal:

  • Utilize outreach practices to bring hurricane relief resources to the community.
  • Provide referral information to appropriate medical, psychological, or other services that may be available.
  • Provide emotional support, education, and connection to familial and community support systems.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations.
  • Collect and evaluate data to ensure quality services and justify program efforts.
  • Leave behind a permanent legacy of improved coping skills, educational and resource materials, and enhanced community linkages.

H.E.F.T.Y. (Hurricane Education For The Youth):

H.E.F.T.Y. is a educational program designed by Project H.O.P.E. to help us better connect with the children of the community. The curriculum is focused around hurricane preparedness and stress management, utilizing both a four-week and one-day sale program to ensure we can accommodate a multitude of facilities throughout the Florida Keys.

  • Programs available in the Upper, Middle & Lower Keys.
  • Serving schools, day cares, & summer camps.
  • Four-Week and One-Day Programs available.
